I’m a technologist and a business man. I’m also a committed father. I’ll be honest, it hasn’t been easy to maintain the two. Many people told me that being a successful entrepreneur and a dedicated family man wouldn’t mix. Having the best of both worlds was a long shot, as was having a rich and connected relationship with my wife.
I’ve always been driven, and working hard has come easy. Burying myself in my work was often a welcome escape, and an easy habit to indulge. However, raising two strong willed daughters was an altogether different challenge, and I’ve had every excuse to be the absent father.

It was through coaching and growth work at Wright that I got my first glimpse of being able to bet the best of both sides of my life. I learned to spend more meaningful time with my girls even when time was scarce and I was stressed. The training helped me see my responsibility to the family more clearly, and to see that my being a father at home translated directly to “parenting” my staff and my company. Leadership skills have served me well on both fronts, and I finally cultivated the ability to sit still and listen.
My company is now at $20MM, internationally recognized and growing fast. My daughters are also growing fast, and I’m proud that I haven’t missed much of their becoming young women. And I haven’t missed out on having a fulfilling marriage either. It hasn’t been easy, but I would recommend taking both on to anyone. I’ve finally accepted there’s enough of me to go around…and I still have time for myself.
